Apple Cider Vinegar for Wart Removal – Does it work?

Her plantar warts were spreading, but she decided to not visit a doctor because she thought it would be pricey and painful. Instead, again she used apple cider vinegar (ACV)!

At that time, she decided that topical application with ACV was worth a try. In the beginning, she tried soaking the affected skin for about 3 times a week. “I should have done this step every night, but I just couldn’t remember”, she said.

About 2-3 weeks after taking this home remedy, she didn’t find any improvement. Then she decided to gently rub the affected skin with a clean towel after every soak. In the next several weeks, she found that her nasty little black warts were loosening, even some were toweled away.

Once she found the improvement, she continued to soak the affected skin every night. Eventually, her warts were gone and have not returned.

Salicylic acid is a common active ingredient found in over-the-counter products for treating and fighting against warts. ACV contains acetic acid … it may be different to salicylic acid, but it is still an acid and even may be friendlier and a much more gentle treatment for warts.

What is the bottom line?

The most challenging thing, there are also numerous cases of warts that resolve spontaneously. It seems that the immune system has its own way to fight against the infection, though typically it can take a long time to see the warts disappear completely without treatment.

Since there is a chance for warts to resolve spontaneously, it’s difficult to analyze whether any herb (such as apple cider vinegar) did have an effect in helping to cure and remove the wart or just the passage of time within weeks /months that led to the cure.

Warts are commonly thought as a harmless condition. Unless they get worse or cause discomfort symptoms that interfere with your daily activities, they usually don’t require treatment.

Whatever your choice, it’s important to make sure that your problem is actually wart! Sometime, some people mistakenly identify another serious skin condition as a wart.

To keep safe – seek a medical advice if you have any questions about the diagnosis or appropriate treatments for warts!
