There are some risk factors of IBS, but experts have confirmed that changes of weight are not one of them.
Weight loss and weight gain can affect people with IBS. But these changes are not specific symptoms of the syndrome.
Instead, weight changes are likely to be caused by the following reasons:
- Dietary changes! As written before, patients with IBS need to take an appropriate diet to manage and relieve the symptoms. And this take time with a trial process, resulting in weight changes.
