But if you want to take vitamin C supplements, it’s so important to take them at right dose! Again, too high vitamin C could be counterproductive, as noted before.

Discuss to your physician /doctor about the appropriate dose of vitamin C you should take!

The effect of coffee in helping to lower uric acid level

A study showed the link between the habit of drinking coffee – (either for regular or decaffeinated coffee) – and the relatively lower levels of uric acid in the body. Unfortunately, this finding did not explain the mechanism of why and how coffee affects the body’s uric acid level.

However, the result of this study is too early to be concluded. Experts admit more studies are needed to confirm this issue.

Furthermore, with the available evidence that’s not strong enough, experts are not able yet to encourage sufferers with gout who are not coffee-drinkers to use coffee as a part of their treatment plan.

In addition, another natural option to cope with gout may be with eating some colored fruits particularly such as cherries, blackberries, raspberries, or blueberries. These fruits may help reduce uric acid levels, too.

But remember that all kinds of foods (including healthy foods such as fruits) are not free of calories. So eat anything in moderation to help control your weight off. Obesity can make all types of arthritis (including gout) worse! See other gout remedies in this previous post!
