Green tea

We know well, it is rich in antioxidant, too! And this is the major reason why it is thought may help prevent and treat prostate cancer.

Based on the study in 2005, polyphenols of green tea might prevent the spread of prostate cancer. These active substances might help reduce the risk of the disease, too.

Green tea itself is a popular stimulant beverage in Japan, China, and some Asian’s countries. It is also available in capsules (green tea extracts). To keep safe, choose caffeine-free products!

Drinking green tea in moderation is commonly safe for most people, including for those with prostate cancer. But if you want to take it as supplement or herb, it’s better to ask your doctor first!

Is milk thistle safe for prostate cancer

For many decades, milk thistle has been used as herbal remedy to help treat a wide variety of different health conditions. Some early clinical trials found that its essential content called silymarin is anti-cancer agent, too

But when it comes to treating prostate cancer, the use of milk thistle is still debatable! While some studies suggest that it might help for the treatment of this form of cancer, others show no any connection or even the opposite result.

Some experts say that the use of milk thistle should be avoided for individuals with a personal history of hormones related cancers, such as cancers of uterine, breast, and prostate.

Garlic and onions

They belong to group of veggies called allium. According to one study that observed a great amount of data from an Asian country (China), people with diet loaded with onions and garlic had decreased risk of prostate cancer.

But if they do have advantages for fighting against cancer, it’s still important to take anything in moderation!

Lycopene

It is a kind of carotenoids, well known as antioxidant, too! It can be found naturally in some foods such as tomatoes (top source for lycopene), pink grapefruit, and watermelon.

According to a review of more than 20 studies that observed the effectiveness of lycopene, individuals with diet high in lycopene were less likely to develop cancer of prostate. Nevertheless, the use of lycopene for prostate cancer treatment is not approved yet by FDA (the US Food and Drug Administration).

Again, it’s much better to consult first with your healthcare provider before you try taking any herbs for your prostate cancer treatment.
