Traveling? Don’t Go Without These Skincare Essentials!

Hey everyone, it’s Eliza! Welcome back to our lovely blog. I’m thrilled to be in Aspen for the first time. I’ve wanted to visit for so long, and now I’m finally here. Today, I’ll share my traveling skincare routine, which is essential for keeping my skin hydrated and glowing in these dry climates.

Battling Dry Air in Different Places

Recently, I traveled from Vegas to LA and then to Aspen. Both Vegas and Aspen have very dry air. It’s tough to keep my skin moisturized in such conditions.

My body tries to hold onto all the water it can, which makes my face look puffy. But I’ve found some great products that help.

Essential Skincare Products

  1. Collagen Stimulation: Keeping your skin youthful is key. I use a device that stimulates collagen, which helps with wrinkles and keeps the skin firm. Collagen breakdown is a natural part of aging, so anything that can help rebuild it is a must-have.
  2. Hydration is Key: Moisturize immediately after washing your face or showering. If you wait, your skin dries out quickly and doesn’t absorb moisture well. I always apply a hyaluronic acid serum right after cleansing. It’s thin but very effective. Hyaluronic acid attracts water to the skin, keeping it hydrated and plump.
  3. Exfoliation: I never travel without my Paula’s Choice BHA liquid exfoliant. It helps get rid of dead skin cells, which accumulate when traveling. Exfoliating regularly ensures my skin stays smooth and clear, preventing any buildup that can dull my complexion.
  4. Retin-A: This product is fantastic for cell turnover. It renews the skin, keeping it fresh and youthful. When using Retin-A, exfoliating is essential to remove the dead skin cells it sheds. It’s a powerful product that can make a big difference in skin texture and appearance.

Favorite Products

  • Paula’s Choice BHA Liquid Exfoliant: Always in my bag for exfoliating. It keeps my skin clear and smooth.
  • Glow Recipe Dark Spot Serum: Great for targeting dark spots. This serum helps even out my skin tone.
  • Garnier Rose Micellar Water: My go-to makeup remover. It’s gentle yet effective, removing all traces of makeup without drying out my skin.
  • Aquaphor: An inexpensive, effective moisturizer. I use it nightly to wake up with hydrated, plump skin. It creates a barrier that locks in moisture.
  • Augustinus Bader Rich Cream: A luxurious cream I use nightly. It’s rich and nourishing, perfect for nighttime hydration.
  • First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream: A versatile moisturizer that I use for workouts or quick errands. It’s lightweight but deeply hydrating.

Staying Hydrated

Dry skin is my biggest enemy. I use a face mist throughout the day to keep my skin hydrated. It’s easy to apply and quick.

When I travel, I always have my truffle serum spray. It makes my skin glow and smells amazing. Keeping a face mist handy ensures my skin stays refreshed and hydrated no matter where I am.

Self-Tanner for the Face

Because I exfoliate a lot, my self-tanner fades quickly. I use DHA face drops, mixing them with my moisturizer to keep a healthy tan on my face.

It’s easy to apply and blends well with my skincare routine. These drops allow me to maintain a natural-looking tan without any extra effort.

Detailed Routine

Every morning and night, I follow a strict skincare routine. Here’s a more detailed breakdown:

  1. Cleanse: I start with a gentle cleanser to remove any impurities.
  2. Exfoliate: Using the BHA liquid exfoliant, I gently exfoliate my skin to get rid of dead skin cells.
  3. Hydrate: I apply the hyaluronic acid serum to keep my skin hydrated.
  4. Treat: Depending on the time of day, I use different serums. In the morning, I use the dark spot serum. At night, I use Retin-A.
  5. Moisturize: I finish with a rich moisturizer to lock in all the hydration and treatments.
  6. Protect: During the day, I always apply sunscreen to protect my skin from UV damage.

Final Tips

Always do your inner work and take care of yourself. Hydrate, moisturize, and give your skin the love it deserves. Traveling can be tough on the skin, but with the right products, you can keep your glow no matter where you are.

I also use Aquaphor, especially in dry climates like Vegas and Aspen. It’s my best friend for keeping my skin hydrated overnight. Another trick is using self-tanning drops to maintain a healthy glow. Just mix a few drops with your moisturizer, and you’re good to go.

Lastly, I love using face mists throughout the day. They are perfect for a quick hydration boost, especially when traveling. My truffle serum spray is my favorite, it smells amazing and makes my skin glow.
