- Dilute apple cider vinegar with water. Use a cotton ball to swipe this simple AVC formula across the pimple. Allow about 10 minutes for the vinegar to soak into your skin and then rinse.
- Another idea is with tea tree oil (a kind of herbal oil that contains anti-fungal & antibacterial properties to help dry out the acne [2]). Topically apply the oil with cotton ball on the treatment area several times a day!
- Aloe Vera! The gel of this plant provides anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties, which may also help heal acne [3].
Using a heavy makeup on your face can make the acne get worse. This would cause more oil and dirt. This may prolong the healing time for your acne. So, avoid using any makeup if you can.
But if you have to, do this carefully. A light makeup are probably still OK! And don’t forget to clean it before going to bed!
There are some types of over-the-counter acne medicines to choose from. In general, salicylic and Benzoyl peroxide are commonly used to treat acne, but they should not be used together (the use of both together may lead to skin irritation).
