Excessive alcohol can be a trigger factor of dehydration. And dehydration can drop your blood pressure lower than normal – as noted above! So, drink alcohol in moderation!

Healthy and well balanced diet is good for your overall health, including for your blood pressure in long term. Full the diet with a variety of healthy foods such as fresh fruits, vegetables, foods low in saturated fats, and healthy carbohydrates.

Postural or  orthostatic hypotension typically lasts a few seconds to a few minutes – and it is often mild.

However though it lasts temporarily, you should not ignore it. See a doctor and consult more with him if you often experience confusion /dizziness /lightheaded /or other unusual symptoms when standing up.

Long-lasting hypotension may point a serious health condition that should be treated promptly.
